Winding Creek Farms started as a dream in the mountains of New Mexico in late 2016 and shortly became a reality in the hollows of Kentucky. After raising three children together, Martin and Kris Wright were itching for their next adventure together and found it traveling across the United States in a camper. But, they found this to only be a temporary solution and they were still searching for their next journey.
Harry and Katie Frederick (Martin and Kris’s youngest child) were living in New Mexico working in the cattle ranching and hospitality business. Harry, after serving in the United States Marine Corps, had spent the better part of the last decade working as a farmer and rancher. Both he and Katie loved the work, but were frustrated working for someone else, unable to follow their passions and build a farm of their own.
What started as few drinks between two empty-nesters and a couple ranch hands one fall night has turned into a family-owned sheep farm in Kentucky.
