Border Collies

We believe border collies are a must on a sheep farm. Their ability to gather and move the sheep calmly makes what we do so much easier. Our dog training is real farm experience mixed with obedience and pen work. Our farm has over 700 sheep on 600 acres and we are still growing. This gives us the opportunity to train dogs on large and small groups in a variety of areas. With our everyday farm work we are able to bring the dogs along so they can experience many different situations which helps to create well rounded dogs. Dogs trained here can be exposed to many animals such as sheep, chickens, guard dogs, other border collies and pets, cats, cattle, geese, ducks, goats and more.

Farm Dog Training

We are constantly on the go, and we expect our border collies to be ready for anything. Farm dog training usually includes (but not limited to): Behaving in the kennel, socialization with other dogs, leash training, loading up in the buggy and staying when told, gathering sheep in small and large places, driving sheep across pastures and through gates, tight alleyway and pen work, learning when to relax, a solid recall, lie down, and other common herding dog commands. Whether you are looking for a well rounded dog or something specific, we are able to customize the dog to fit your needs.

Goose Dog Training

Goose dogs are trained to assist in the relocation of Canada Geese in a safe and harmless way. These dogs start with the farm training and then learn herding in the water and other skills specific to goose work. We have sent goose dogs to live and work on college campuses, golf courses, airports, and cities. These dogs are trained to focus on their job even with all the possible distractions around them.
