July Flooding

Last Monday it felt like we had a storm sitting over top of the farm for over an hour. It down poured for longer than we have ever experienced here. While others have it much worse than us, we still suffered some loss and it left us a big mess to clean up.

We were moving lambs to higher ground in the dark and had to move a couple dogs before their kennels were flooded. The water swept stuff from our equipment shed and destroyed the road near the mailbox. We lost permanent fence in several spots that will have to be fixed.

We didn’t lose any animals during the storm but did lose a few lambs in the following days from hypothermia/pneumonia.

We were lucky that things were not any worse and we had a team to help clean up and put things back together.
